Late last month, DLF co-founder Maurine Molak, was invited by Texas PTA to sit on the 2022 Straight Talk panel at the Texas Capital. This year’s focus was on mental wellness with the issue anticipated to be a top priority for the 2023 legislative session. Maurine shared David’s story and how DLF advocates for families in crisis as they navigate through the school, legal and mental health systems. She encouraged the attendees to review the current policies and laws that protect our Texas students and to get involved with their child’s school anti-bullying and school culture committee. DLF supports school and community partnerships for education and prevention because no one person or group can do it alone. It takes all of us working together to address these issues that are both mental health and school safety concerns. #DareToSelfCare
